City Of Mutare EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES CITY TREASURER’S DEPARTMENT VACANCY: FINANCE DIRECTOR
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacant post of Finance Director.
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION:
This is a senior post in Council which involves the control and administration of the Treasury Department, providing financial advice to Council and its standing committees, producing Council’s Annual Budgets, managing it and producing final accounts as per the requirements of the Urban Council’s Act. In addition, the applicant should have at least five years experience. In the field of Accountancy at a senior level, a working knowledge of computers and be able to manage Council’s investment portfolio. Knowledge of local authority accounting will be an added advantage.
- Applicants must hold a first degree in any one of the following: -
Bachelor of Accountancy Bachelor of Business Studies Bachelor of Commerce or Equivalent of the above degrees from recognized institutions.
In addition, the applicants should be members of at least one of the following professional bodies:-
- Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy
- The Institute of Municipal Treasurer’s Accountants
- Institute of Chartered Accountants
- Institute of Chartered secretaries and administrators
- Institute of Cost Management Accountants
- Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants
